Refunding a payment on a closed cart
How to refund a payment on a closed cart in Terminal Pay.
- Open the Activity screen in the Terminal Pay app (4th icon at the bottom).
- Go to the section titled Shop sales and select See all to view your previous carts.
- Select from the recent transactions which cart you would like to issue a refund for.
- When you open the transaction, you will see the sales information. To start the refund, select the payment at the bottom of the screen titled Payments Taken.
- Select Refund at the bottom of the screen.
- Use the keypad to type in the amount you want to refund, then select Done.
- A pop-up will appear reminding you that refunds are immediate and irreversible. If you still wish to continue with the refund select Refund now, otherwise select Cancel.
- The refund has now been issued. If you wish to send a receipt, select Need to send a receipt and choose from the sending methods.
Note: Refunds are final and cannot be reversed once they are confirmed. It can take between 5 to 10 working days for a refund to be sent back to a customer.
There is no additional fee for a refund, however the original transaction fee is not refunded. This is because costs are incurred from the card networks (e.g. Visa or Mastercard) that are non-refundable.
